October 29-30, 2007 - ROAR at the Second Annual APUA World Congress

The ROAR Project cordially invites you to attend the Second Annual APUA World Congress, entitled �Devising Improved Methods for Identification and Treatment of Infectious Disease.� The two-day conference will take place October 29 and 30, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Boston hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. Parallel session topics include Drug Policy and Economic Burden, Diagnostics, Infection Control, Biodefense, Immunomodulation, and Drug Innovation and Development. Talks of special interest to ROAR include Dr. Margaret Riley of the University of Massachusetts on �Applying ecological and evolutionary theory in the design of novel antimicrobials� and Dr. Jon Clardy of Harvard Medical School on �Genome sequencing, cryptic pathways and ecology: Antibiotic drug discovery at HMS and the Broad Institute.� For more information, to view the full program, or to register for the conference, visit www.APUA.org.

The ROAR Project cordially invites you to attend the First Annual APUA World Congress, entitled �Strengthening Society�s Infectious Disease Defenses: Accelerating Incentives for Research and Development�. The two-day conference will take place December 11 and 12, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Boston hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. Parallel sessions topics include Regulation and Legislation, Drug Discovery and Development, Public/Private Partnerships, Biosecurity, and Enabling Technologies. Talks of special interest to ROAR include Dr. Betsy Foxman of the University of Michigan, presenting her ROAR-funded research �Probe hybridization array typing: Creating a high throughput E. coli gene presence/absence genotyping method suitable for phylogenetic analysis� and Dr. William Fenical of the University of California, with �Deep ocean sediments house actinomycete bacteria that are genetically unique and thus produce new molecules unseen in all previous studies�. 9/1/2006 - ROAR at the 46th ICAAC in San Francisco

In celebration of our 25th Anniversary, APUA will sponsor a booth, symposium, and member reception at the 46th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobials and Chemotherapy from September 27-30 in San Francisco, California. We invite you to attend the APUA-coordinated symposium entitled �Reversing Antibiotic Resistance: Population biology suggests different resistance management strategies for different pathogens�, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday. Come meet ROAR staff at APUA booth number 838.

5/5/2006 - ROAR at the ASM General Meeting

ROAR staff will present a poster entitled “The Analysis of Integrated Antimicrobial Susceptibility Datasets: A Case Study Using the ROAR Database” at the 106th American Society for Microbiology General Meeting in Orlando, Florida, May 21-25.  Visit us at the Bioinformatics and Databases poster session (R04), at poster presentation R-007, on May 22nd from 9:00 – 12:00pm.
