ROAR Database

Welcome to the ROAR Database, a comprehensive resource for researchers studying antibiotic resistance in commensal bacteria. Access to the ROAR Database is password protected and requires that you register to join the ROAR Scientific Network. Use of the Database is governed by our Terms of Use.

The ROAR Isolate Database is a fully searchable collection of commensal and complimentary pathogen isolate datasets. These datasets consist of raw, isolate-by-isolate data, including antibiotic susceptibility, genotypic, phenotypic, virulence factor, and other data. Datasets are linked to annotated citations of publications describing their characterization in the searchable ROAR Literature Database and contact information for the investigator(s) who submitted the original data. Investigators may identify datasets of interest, submit data to the ROAR Database, or download data from the ROAR Database for analysis.

Submitting Data: The development and maintenance of this database is dependent on generous data submissions from the scientific community (see Submit Data for more information). ROAR uses an online data submission process. Subsequent quality control processes involve ROAR staff and the submitting investigator.

Analyzing Data: We strongly encourage analysis of ROAR data by interested investigators. Please note that if you choose to analyze ROAR data you are bound to certain legal obligations (see Analyzing Data and Terms of Use for more information). ROAR seeks to ensure quality control for all datasets. However, it is the responsibility of the analyzing investigator(s) to confirm dataset quality by contacting the submitting investigator(s).

My ROAR provides a centralized location for your ROAR services. My ROAR allows you to:

  • view and modify your personal profile,
  • track and modify submitted datasets,
  • select and manage or download datasets of interest, and
  • post publications citing the ROAR Database.
